Following a very successful inaugural event last year the Belltrees Cricket Club Pink Day Spectacular will return this month and it is set to be bigger and brighter.
The day of fun, family and fundraising will be held at Belltrees Cricket Oval on Saturday, February 18 from 1pm.
The local favourites of Belltrees and Rouchel Cricket Clubs will go head to head on the field under the watchful eye of well known local umpire Russell Sakey, while all are welcome to enjoy the spectacle and help raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.
The theme is pink, and all are asked to dress in pink, however there will also be pink merchandise for sale on the day if you forget.
Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed male and female.
There will be raffles, balloon raffles, a charity auction including items such as signed Shane Warne memorabilia, a joy flight over Scone in a Harvard T6-G warplane, Michael Slater cricket merchandise, NRL memorabilia and more.
Already gaining the attention of Michael Slater on the cricket test coverage, the day will see former NRL player Ronnie Gibbs visit to run activities with the children and hand out merchandise.
Belltrees Cricket Club secretary Katrina McCosker said following on from last year’s event which raised a pleasing $4400, the aim of the day was to raise $5000 for the worthy cause as well as creating awareness.
“Quite a few families in the area have been affected by cancer, particularly breast cancer, so this is our event to help try to make a difference,” Mrs McCosker said.
“It’s amazing how close to home it really is for some people,” she said.
“The day will be for the whole family with something to keep the children entertained as well as the adults.”
Mrs McCosker said anyone who wished to support the day through donations of raffle or auction items or general donations were more than welcome to contact her.
Dinner will be available as well as refreshments.
