Minister questions on Scone rail crossing

05 Nov, 2009 08:08 AM
NSW LEADER of The Nationals Andrew Stoner asked NSW Minister for Transport David Campbell several questions in Parliament recently about the level crossing on the New England Highway in Scone.

Mr Stoner who is also shadow minister for State Development and shadow minister for Roads and Ports, asked Mr Campbell five questions on Thursday, October 22 and an answer is due by Thursday, November 26.

Mr Stoner asked the minister if he was aware of the current traffic problems caused by the level crossing.

The other questions were, is the Minister aware that these traffic problems will be exacerbated as a result of the projected increase in coal haulage through the Hunter Valley over the next 10 years?

What action has the minister or department taken to address this situation?

Has the minister or department contacted the Federal Government over the issue of the railway crossings in Scone?

Has the minister or department requested the Federal Government to fund and/or build an overpass of the railway crossing near Scone?

The Questions to David Campbell have been published in the Questions and Answers Paper number 161 although no answer has been printed at this stage.
