THE Club’s 2009 season got off to a great start on Sunday, October 25 with a fantastic number of Scone athletes competing at the Aberdeen Athletics Club’s gala day.
Many of the athletes who competed won medallions, ribbons and trophies. Nine Scone athletes came first in pointscore for their age group, they were Ilisa Whitehead in U6, Caitlyn Whitehead in U8, David Faulks in Open Men’s, Harry Schumaker in U7, Alex Catzikiris in U8, Dylan Catzikiris, Flynn Haggarty in U10, Zoe Harper and Emily-Jane Evans. Congratulations to all the Scone athletes who competed at Aberdeen, it was great to see so many people supporting the Aberdeen Club.
Two records were broken at the first pointscore night for the season on Friday. Paul Beiboer broke the triple jump record with a jump of 10m, and Nicky Western broke the pre-vet women’s 800m record in a time of 2mins 39 seconds.
