Cade named best bowler at carnival

LOCAL boys and Upper Hunter Junior Cricketers, Cade Cust and Isaac Smith were the only local members to compete at Lismore in the Under 12 Junior Cricket Carnival.

Both Cade and Isaac played with the Hunter Valley under 12 sidethroughout the carnival from from Tuesday, January 5 to Saturday, January 9.

The Hunter Valley side was equal third with Newcastle when they had a tie in the play off for third and fourth spot.

There were 16 teams in the competition.

Isaac was selected as batsman and wicket keeper, his best performance was 45 not out against the Central Coast.

Cade was selected as opening bowler with figures of 12 wickets from 28 overs.

Of the two major awards Batsman and Bowler of the Carnival, Cade was awarded Bowler of the Carnival.
