Spectators were entertained with campdraft and a bull ride over two days of action.

After a day if campdrafting, the crowd stayed on Saturday night for the entertainment and Sunday was full of excitement with excellent drafting in the finals.

Local competitors held their ground with six out of the seven campdrafts won by Upper Hunter competitors.

The Miles brothers from Rouchel came out on top in the junior events with Grant Miles winning the junior cut-out on Holly and his older brother Wade winning the juvenile draft on Repeat.

In the maiden, Ellerston’s James Keyte was the winner on Fashion, and making the weekend worth the trip, James also took out the open draft on Perception.

Another Rouchel competitor Nick Clydsdale was successful in the novice draft placing first on Duke and Leanne Shorten and Beaches from Ellerston were the winners of the ladies draft.

Greg Benbow and Heaven’s Peppy were the successful combination winning the encouragement draft.

Gundy Bushman’s Carnival secretary Kristy Maloney said it was a great weekend.

“The committee was very happy with the roll up and how the cattle ran,” Maloney said.

“We had great spectator numbers this year, one of the highest on record,” she said.

“The committee would like to thank the sponsors, cattle donors, competitors and spectators for a great weekend.”

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
