The Mars and Venus event was a fundraiser for the first Scone netball team to compete at the World Masters in Paramatta between October 10 and 18.

All the team members belong to the local club but will be up against teams such as Sri Lanka in the World Masters, an international sporting competition for people over 35.

Mars and Venus organiser Vanessa Muddiman said there were 12 teams with members all aged over 15 years, in the fundraising night which was an end of

season round robin.

Mrs Muddiman said she would like to thank all the sponsors and supporters who helped make the gala night possible and was hoping the concept could become an annual event.
