EARLY on Monday, June 15 a group of eager children and their parents with horse floats in tow crossed over the ranges to compete at the Willow Tree Horse Sports Day.
After rain the previous evening the group was rewarded with a beautiful sunny day.
Competitors travelled from as far away as Armidale to the Central Coast.
Once again, the Scone Grammar students performed extremely well with Jarrod Boyle, Sam Randle and Andrew Hordern being awarded age champions and Justin Boyle, Cameron Boyle, Declan Boyle, Brendan Kelly and Annalise Kaye being awarded reserve champions for their respective age groups.
Scone Grammar was the Champion school in both primary and secondary sections and also the school with the highest point score.
The group was pleased with the day and look forward to showing their skills at the next horse sports day.
