Angry with recent decisions

I READ with interest about all the new things that are planned for Scone.

Here is a thought, how about fixing what is already a mess before implementing all these new you beaut ideas… the windfarm, the traffic lights, increased rail traffic, (that’s a joke, the trains already cut the town in half).

I have not spoken to one person who is in agreement with any of these things, so where the hell do the powers that be come up with their figures saying that the majority of residents and landholders are in favour of these new proposals. And to have a vote within council with a five to four majority over the traffic light project is a farce.

What happened to public opinion, or are we just reduced to a pissant power play where we the rate payers have no damn say in what happens to our town, and then they have the nerve to put a flier in the paper for residents to identify their priorities for the community. Why? So it can be used as shredded material.

I think that far too much is decided by the mayor and her cohorts without proper consultation with the community. What is this, a shut-up, pay your rates and we will do the rest kingdom? I don’t think so. Come on Scone, get up off your couch and have a say in what affects your children’s future and the value of your property.
