I AM writing this letter as I was not able to be at the meetings in Scone on March 17 and 18.
I am in favour of the Bickham Coal Project and I feel its time for Murrurundi to stand up and show the Upper Hunter Shire that there is a town north of Wingen which is crying out for the employment opportunity which Bickham Coal is offering.
We have sat on our heels for too long where we have a council which is anti coal mining but on the other hand willingly taking donations from mining companies from the neighbouring shire.
I think its time for the planning minister to give this project the “Green light” and the speculators saying thanks against the mine where Bickham Coal director David Forster has been up front with the workings of the mine project and the planning minister owes Murrurundi as he said there would be no forced amalgamations but is this the price Murrurundi will pay with businesses closing and a town dying if Bickham Coal Mine does not get the “Green light”?
