Thank You Scone Advocate

25 Feb, 2010 09:04 AM
I would like to thank The Scone Advocate for providing space in this newspaper for those who appreciate the serenity and beauty of the Upper Hunter to make a small cry in the wilderness against the industrialization of Scone.

Of course the NSW State Government was not going to care about the views of the concerned residents who would be severely impacted by wind turbine development.

They are just chasing dollars along with the developer and the landowner.

I feel sad for those in future years who will never know the beauty and serenity of the hills around Scone. These massive turbines will dominate the skyline and turn our area into an industrial landscape.

We have lost something very precious, these ancient ridgelines that have stood proud since the dreamtime are now to be desecrated by some greedy individuals.

These turbines will devastate the serenity of this rural community. It’s sad, so very sad, to watch environmental vandalism.
