The matches are the final hit out for many of the teams before heading to their respective Country Championships.
The players range in age from 12 to 17 with many Scone Junior Rugby teams having boys represent in every age group.
In the 12s we have our biggest contingent with Edwards Arnott, Edward Bell, Harry Brown, Tom Campbell, Jonah Edlington, Hayden Bull and Will Warner.
In the 13s we have Sam Campbell, Conor Edwards, Matt Smart and Tully O’Regan with Ethan Fairgray representing in the 14s.
In the 15s we have Sam Laurie, Rohan Edwards and Seb Carrall showing their skills along with Anthony Beer, Jacob Dagg, Bailey Miller and Connor Deasy in the 16s.
The 17s have Luke Porter, Will Bowcock and Evan Jackson along with Zac McGuinnes, Anthony Simpson, Aleks Thwaite-Wright and Matt O’Donnell representing in the 18s.
Scone Junior Rugby Union Club president Michelle Edwards said it is wonderful to see so many players from our area representing Central North at these trails as well as the Country Championships.
“Scone Junior Rugby encourages players from all our local towns to come and have fun playing rugby.
“We have players from Scone, Denman, Merriwa, Muswellbrook, Murrurundi, Willow Tree and all points in between, with many of them shining in representative rugby,” Mrs Edwards said.
“A big thank you to Scone Junior League for their support with grounds etc and our local referee Stu Daniels , who jumped in to referee a great deal of the games ably supported by Angus Patterson and Jeff Watt.
“It was a great day with perfect football weather and some superb rugby on display.”
Our next local match will be on Saturday, April 26 at the Scone Rugby Club when the Scone Brumbies take on Inverell in Seniors and Under 18s with the 16s taking on Western Clubs.
