Cutting competitors will travel from across NSW to join many locals to compete for a slice of the $12,000 up for grabs in the jackpot show, which is one of two held in Scone each year.
The action will kick off tomorrow at about 1pm with pre-works running throughout the afternoon, followed by two full days of cutting on Saturday and Sunday from 8am.
Professional cutting horse trainers including Wayne ‘Link’ Baumann, Phil Gray, Scott Johnson and Steve Byrne will be competing as well as non-professional competitors ranging from youth through to experienced.
Hunter Valley Cutting Horse Club show secretary Lynda MacCallum said the committee is looking forward to an excellent event with huge entries, the biggest they have had since holding the event back at White Park.
“We should have two very full days of cutting with the highlights on show on Sunday afternoon in the open event, so if you’d like to come down for a look that would be a good event to watch,” she said.
The novice competitors will be on show starting each morning.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities.
Full canteen facilities will be in operation thanks to the Bunnan Tennis Club.
