Public values recognised

While many of us can remember receiving a merit certificate or two at assembly, a new reward system has students at one Scone primary school on their best behaviour.

Scone Public principal Lynne Gray said she was very pleased to be introducing the new value badge system to the school.

“The badge is awarded to two students every fortnight that exhibit one or more of the school’s core values – respect, trust and honesty, responsibility, co-operation, compassion and caring. “

It is really about focusing on positive behaviour and recognising when our students get it right,” Ms Gray said.

The first recipient of the respect value badge was year 6 student Bianca Soper. “It’s very cool to get the badge. My mum was really happy too,” Bianca said.

The second worthy recipient of a value badge at Scone Public was year 2 student Noah Petersen.
