Bunnan Polocrosse Club left its mark on the national stage earlier this month when several members performed fantastically at the National Polocrosse Championships in Darwin.

The members travelled in a small group of four trucks, three caravans and 15 horses, along with other players from Muswellbrook and Quirindi Clubs.
There were nine finals in total and NSW made the finals of eight of these, going on to win six out of the eight.
The first final was the Under 12 Sub-Juniors between NSW and Queensland.
The NSW team won the final and Coach Brad Wamsley was very happy with his team’s win, saying they are a great bunch who are the players of the future.
Bunnan player Clancy Martin played for Northern Territory in the Under 12 Sub-Juniors and made lots of new friends.
Mitch Wamsley was representing the Polocrosse Association Australia (PAA) Joey’s Junior boys team and had a great time playing against his older brother Joe.
This team was made up with players selected by the association from different states and Mitch was one of four NSW boys selected to play.
Bunnan players Graham and Kaylene Wilson came away winners against Western Australia in the Masters Mixed final.
Kaylene and her horse Shottie won the Champion Australian Stock Horse in the Masters Division.
Graham was also the coach of the NSW Women’s team who had a great nationals but missed out on a final.
The Under 16 Junior girls final was between Queensland and NSW.
This was a very close final with Queensland winning by two goals.
Bunnan’s Anastasia Martin and Quirindi’s Isobel Robinson played in the NSW girls team.
The Under 21 boys finals was again between NSW and Queensland with Queensland coming out the winners in the final.
Muswellbrook’s Brandon Parkinson was part of the NSW team.
The NSW Senior Mixed team came away winners against Queensland.
Bunnan’s Brad Wamsley played in this team and Muswellbrook’s Louise Parkinson was the team’s manager.
Quirindi’s Lachlan Holz and Bunnan’s Joe Wamsley played in the NSW Junior Boys Team who made the final against Queensland.
This was again a very close final with only two goals the difference, but NSW came away the winners 19 goals to 17.
The boys were coached by Muswellbrook’s Colin Parkinson and the team manager was Bunnan’s Sam Wamsley.
Joe Wamsley was named the Champion Male Junior Horse and Rider of the Nationals and Bunnan’s Jim Callinan was there to announce and congratulate Joe on his win.
This was a great effort from a small group of players, coaches, managers, family and horses from three polocrosse clubs, a great trip was had by all.
After returning home from Darwin Joe Wamsley, Lachlan Holz and Brandon Parkinson have been named on the Polocrosse Australia Representative Squads for 2014.
