And what a great attitude he has according to his proud owner Jane Smallmon of Murrurundi.
“Bruce is a sweet heart in every way.
“He has such a lovely nature, he’s honest, reliable and never lets me down,” she said.
Ms Smallmon bought ‘Caerleon Emperor’ (aka ‘Bruce’) , a bay Welsh A pony as an 18-month-old colt before breaking him in herself to harness as a two-year-old.
Since then he has packed a lot into his seven years, and by all accounts, there’s plenty more still to come.
“I took him to his first show when he was three and have been showing him ever since,” Ms Smallmon said.
“This was his first Royal ribbon.
“To come reserve champion at the Brisbane Royal is a great achievement.
“I’m still trying to decide whether to show him at the Sydney Royal or take him to Victoria and campaign him down there.”
Where ever Ms Smallmon decides to take Bruce, his competition better watch out as this little pony from Murrurundi has plenty to prove with the talent and attitude to match.
