With 113 competitors registered, it was a great first show effort for the school.
Aberdeen Public School parent and co-event organiser Amy Croft said she was delighted with the smooth running of the show despite a weather ‘hiccup’ the previous month.
“We did have to change the date due to bad weather but we still managed to run a very successful program of horse sports events,” she said.
“It was great to see most schools in the Upper Hunter represented as well as riders from Tamworth, Maitland and Dubbo.
“There were a great number of helpers which must be congratulated for their tireless efforts all day and to our sponsors.
“It was a lot of work, so we’ll have to wait and see whether the school can run it again next year.”
With lots of good sportsmanship on show and great feedback from competitors and parents, there will no doubt be lots of friendly ‘pressure’ on the committee to do it all again in 12 months time.
