The message is being put out to all dads in the local community to jump on board for the upcoming Healthy Dads, Healthy Kids program being launched in Scone.
A new date has been set for the launch on Tuesday, October 7 at 5.30pm.
The program will then be held on Monday evenings from 5.30pm until December 1, however men are being reminded that the program will accommodate for shift workers so if you can’t make all nine sessions, it’s okay.
Organiser, Scone Neighbourhood Centre manager Lee Watts, said if people can’t make each week they will be accommodated for as the facilitators will provide the information they need to keep them on track throughout the program.
The program will be facilitated by Jess Day and Matt Whatman and will be held at Scone Grammar School.
Designed to allow dads to spend fun, active time with their children, the Healthy Dads, Healthy Kids program is a free initiative that has gained international recognition for its health and wellbeing benefits.
Generally the program consists of nine 90 minute weekly group sessions which include fun rough and tumble games and sports, as well as advice to encourage physical activity in your children, develop their sport skills and improve eating habits and social and emotional wellbeing.
Some dads have already registered, however any dads, grandpas or male role models of primary school children are welcome to register with their children.
