Zac McGuinness, Adam (Bluey) Peterson and Luke Porter have been selected in the NSW Country Under 18s squad to tour Spain next month.
The players gained selection through the NSW Rugby Country Championship, held earlier in the year as well as their continued effort in their club games throughout the season.
The team will have games against the Spanish Under 18s side as well as teams from Madrid, Catalunya and Valencia.
Scone Junior Rugby Union Club president Michelle Edwards said this is a great effort for all these men with Zac and Adam being part of the Central North competition winning Scone Brumbies first grade side and Luke gaining selection through his consistent efforts whilst playing for the Singleton Bulls Under 17s.
“This was a big effort for Luke to be selected in the Under 18s whilst still playing in Under 17s,” Edwards said.
“Luke has excelled in his rugby this year also gaining selection in the Central North School Boys Squad to tour Singapore in December.
“It is great to see the talent of our junior players being recognised.
“The hard work these players have put in as well as the support and dedication of their coaches and families throughout their junior careers should be commended,” she said.
“This is a great sign for the future of rugby in our area.”
