All the presentations that I attended were punctual, well organised, well attended and very entertaining.
The Conversations section of the Literary Long Weekend gave an opportunity to writers from Singleton, Muswellbrook, Scone, Murrurundi, the Liverpool Plains and everywhere in between, to read excerpts from their work and show their skills.
The audience was taken from today’s Antarctic to North Sydney Aquatic Pool in the sixties, from Serbia to the old Sydney Stadium, from the Rural Fire Service to a childhood spent in Salt Pan Cove on Pittwater.
We learnt about environmental sustainability, how to preserve eggs, how to publish your book and how to befriend a Water Dragon.
We were touched with poems and stories about love and loss, facing adversity, finding yourself and much more.
The panel discussion of “The future of the printed word” was thought provoking and particularly interesting because it was our local ‘fine minds’ doing the talking.
The organisers and participants can feel proud.
It was inspiring and fun.
Thank you and please do it again.
