Precise ball skills and agility were two major skills showcased at Scone Park on the weekend at the inaugural Country Rugby League (CRL) Ladies League Tag Premiers Challenge.

The weather turned on its best and the competition was even better at the two day carnival, which has been hailed a fantastic success by the organisers – CRL.
A total of 16 teams of ladies made their way to Scone for the challenge representing groups from across the country regions of the state.
According to officials, all players were in great spirits and eager to take the field for their games on Saturday and despite the heat played with enthusiasm and competitiveness all day.
At the end of the first round of pool games, the scores were: Kiama 10 defeated North Tamworth 4, Dubbo 12 defeated Scone 6, Bathurst 38 defeated Muswellbrook 0, Wauchope 16 defeated Uralla 4, Tumbarumba 26 defeated Bendemeer 6, Condobolin 18 defeated Walcha 0, Leeton 14 defeated Ashford 4, Oxley 40 defeated Merriwa 0.
The scores after the second round of pool games were: Kiama 28 defeated Dubbo Westside 6, North Tamworth 16 defeated Scone 4, Bathurst and Uralla drew 6 all, Wauchope 16 defeated Muswellbrook 0, Bendemeer 16 defeated Condobolin 4, Tumbarumba 32 defeated Walcha 4, Leeton 42 defeated Merriwa 0, Oxley 13 defeated Ashford 12.
Scores to wrap up the third games of play were: North Tamworth 10 defeated Dubbo Westside 6, Kiama 26 defeated Scone 4, Bathurst 10 defeated Wauchope 0, Uralla 28 defeated Muswellbrook 16, Tumbarumba 12 defeated Condobolin 4, Bendemeer 20 defeated Walcha 6, Oxley drew with Leeton 8 all, Ashford 30 defeated Merriwa 0.
Sunday saw the finals action take place.
The results of the quarter semi finals were: Kiama 8 defeated Wauchope 6, North Tamworth 12 defeated Bathurst 4, Oxley 16 defeated Tumbarumba 0, Leeton 16 defeated Bendemeer 4.
The top four teams of the challenge went head to head in the qualifying finals where Kiama 16 defeated North Tamworth 6 and Leeton 8 defeated Oxley 0.
The final saw Kiama take on Leeton in a great display of talents and skills where Kiama were just too strong taking out the inaugural title defeating Leeton 14 to 6.
Country Rugby League operations manager Bert Lowrie said the event exceeded all expectations and was a huge success.
Lowrie extended thanks to the Scone Senior and Junior Leagues as well as their Old Boys for the professional manner in which they hosted the event.
