The annual Zone 7 Jamboree was hosted by the Denman Pony Club this year to coincide with the club's 60th birthday celebrations.
Zone 7 president Jane Gorman said she was very impressed with the calibre of riders and presentation of horses throughout the event.
“The jamboree was a great competition between all the clubs in the zone with riders in attendance from Aberdeen, Scone, Merriwa, Denman, Cassilis, Murrurundi and Singleton.
“It was a fantastic weekend that really showcased the talents of our riders from leads to associates,” she said.
Zone 7 chief instructor and councillor Phil Logue said he was honoured to receive a life membership award in recognition of his 17 years of service to the zone and to be part of this year's jamboree.
“I congratulate all riders for the wonderful way their horses are presented and to the parents who have no doubt helped many of the younger riders prepare their horses.
“For those riders that didn’t place over the weekend, just remember it is not how you finish but how you play the game and I was very happy to see the high level of good sportsmanship throughout the weekend,” he said.
Other highlights included the presentation of Denman rider Carla Wicks with the Keith Lowe Award for her contribution to the Denman Pony Club as a role model for younger riders and avid and accomplished senior competitor.
Denman Pony Club was the highest point scoring club on the day as well as the recipient of the coveted ‘President's Cup’ for overall highest point scoring club in 2014 across the zone.
