And give is exactly what they did as the real housewives of Scone have produced an unreal effort to raise funds for breast cancer.
About $26,000 has already been raised and with the sale of ‘The Real Housewives of Scone’ calendars, organiser Liza White is predicting another $15,000 will be collected.
Ms White was the brains behind Friday’s elegant night of fine food, entertainment and auctions to launch the popular calendar which features 12 local women posing semi-naked to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.
The event, held at Scone Race Club, saw about 150 people gather for the important cause.
Among the guests was Liza’s good friend and cancer survivor Lisa Poulos from Sydney, who shared her story of a battle with breast cancer.
Although Lisa’s story – ‘A Life Laid Bare’ – was shown on Australian Story last year, Friday was really only the second time she has spoken about it in front of such a large crowd.
Ms White said the night was great with lots of fantastic support.
She said Lisa loved having the opportunity to meet all the people up here and share her important experience with them.
“The feedback from the guests has been really positive and everyone really enjoyed the night.
“The launch of the calendar has been very successful and I am just really touched by the generosity of the businesses and locals in Scone,” she said.
Ms White said some of the funds raised will be donated to Muswellbrook Hospital’s oncology unit, with the rest going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
