The committee will be getting together in coming weeks to raise funds for the welfare efforts of the foundation and support rugby league individuals and families where they can.
A fundraising Bowls Day will be held on Saturday, December 6 at the Scone RSL Club with many great prizes on offer and lots of fun to be had.
All are welcome to go along and take part in the leisurely day and support the work of the foundation.
Men of League Upper Hunter Committee president Peter Ford said the bowls day will be a great way for local league fans to come together to celebrate as we enter the festive season and will also test their bowling arm while raising funds for Men of League.
“Rugby league is ingrained in the sporting culture of the Hunter and the Men of League Foundation has developed strong ties with our community.
“It is through the fundraising efforts of events like the Bowls Day that enable us to continue helping those in the rugby league family that are going through tough times,” Ford said.
Cost is $80 per team of four, which includes a barbecue lunch and two schooners per person.
The bowls day will start at 10.30am with two games of 12 ends to be played.
