The Pony Club NSW (PCNSW) State Show Riding Championships will be held at White Park, Scone on December 6 and 7.
Pony Club NSW events coordinator Lisa Ferguson said this was the first time Scone had hosted the event.
“There will be riders from as far away as Bangalow in the north to Goulburn in the south, and everywhere in between.
“There are 230 riders entered, which is what we would normally expect for a state event.
Ferguson said PCNSW held nine state championship events each year in different disciplines.
“Show riding covers all the hacking, rider and working hunter events for riders aged from under 9 age group through to under 25 associate riders.
“The competition is expected to be of a very high level, as one would expect from a state level event such as this.
“We hope lots of people will come and watch,” she said.
Upper Hunter Zone 7 pony clubs will host the event next month and are offering free entry to all spectators across the weekend.
There will be plenty to see.
