Now in its third year, the day saw children travel from 16 primary schools as far as Dural to join local students for the day of riding and hack classes, as well as a full program of sporting events.
The day was held on Friday, November 7 at the Moonan Flat Sports Ground and organised by the Belltrees Public School P&C, along with many volunteer helpers.
Horse Sports organiser Camilla Maxwell thanked everyone for helping out on the day, especially the students from Belltrees that didn’t compete but were there on the day helping to collect results and help with the running of the day, as well as Lachie Maxwell, Emma Carter, and Darcey and Emily Taylor.
“We had lots of volunteers helping with marshalling, judging, timekeeping, helping in the canteen, and of course sponsors, all of which would take a whole newspaper to thank,” Maxwell said.
“Funds raised from the day will go towards purchasing some much needed resources for the school and to help finance the student’s school excursion to Sydney this week, which of course they are very excited about.”
