The Aberdeen and Scone Neighbourhood Centres are hosting the two events with the first being the annual Twilight Markets in Aberdeen next Saturday, December 6.
The Christmas themed event will see at least 20 market stalls set up in the Rose Garden, with Christmas carols provided by the Scone Singers and accompanied by Aberdeen Public School students.
There will also be face painting, a jumping castle, slushies and snow cones, a barbecue and, of course, a visit from Santa with Santa photos available.
All are welcome to go along for a fun evening in Christmas spirit.
The event will kick off at 5pm.
The Scone Community Christmas event will be held the next weekend on Saturday, December 13 at Elizabeth Park from 5pm where a free Christmas movie will be shown on the big screen providing a real outdoor cinema event.
There will be market stalls, trike rides, fairy floss, a barbecue, a huge giant Santa and the park will be decorated to create a real Christmas atmosphere.
Scone and Aberdeen Neighbourhood Centres manager Lee Watts invited everyone to go along to the events as they are for the community to enjoy.
“The whole idea is to bring the community back together to celebrate Christmas,” she said.
“The movie will have a Christmas theme, but the choice will be a secret until the night.
“Bring along your bean bag or blanket and enjoy the evening, as the movie will start on dark (about 8pm).”
Mrs Watts said local service groups are playing a role in each event and there will be ham raffles on offer.
“Local businesses and the Upper Hunter Shire Council have also been fantastic in supporting the events.
The council has donated $1200 towards the two events.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the fun,” she said.
There are two raffles in operation, one at each centre, which will be drawn at the respective town’s events.
