The new equipment is the Scone RSL Club’s ‘gift’ to the community as the club again donated $6000 to six local organisations this week.
The annual donation initiative has been occurring for about nine years and is very much appreciated by all group recipients.
A $1000 cheque was given to Scone Public School, Scone High School, St Mary’s Primary School, Scone Grammar School, Scott Memorial Hospital and the Scone and District Pre-school.
Scone RSL Club president Dennis Wilson said he was pleased to be able to continue the donation initiative, which is made up of funds, raffles and member contributions from throughout the year.
“It’s goodwill to the community and hopefully everyone gets some benefit from the money somewhere along the line,” he said.
Scone and District Pre-school director Georgi Ryan thanked the club for the donation as it is very important to the pre-school.
“We are a community based group so we rely on support from others to keep the pre-school running for the community,” she said.
Scott Memorial Hospital maternity unit manager Chrissy Haddrill said the hospital is very appreciative of the donation to their service which then allows them to provide a service to the community.
