The modest teenager was chosen from amongst the best in the state to play for the NSW/ACT Country team in the under 15 girls side in 2013 and has now backed up that performance with selection in the 2015 under 18 state team.
“I have been playing cricket since year three and just love the game because you get to play with friends.
“I like batting and bowling and hope to make the open NSW side and play for Australia one day, but that is a fair way down the track,” she said.
Smith will travel to Blacktown after Christmas to train with her other selected team members in preparation for the National Female Cricket Championships to be held in Ballarat, Victoria in January.
When not playing for the state, Kirsten plays for the open mixed team, the Razorbacks.
