The Scone Athletics Club sent a small team to the Country Championships at the Hunter Sports Centre last week with some great results.

Tyla Brown, competing for the first time at Country Championships, won the 11 years 200 metres in a time of 30.23 seconds and came second in the 100 metres.
Nicky Western won the 1500 metres and set a new Country Championships record for her age group, with a time of 5.05.47.
Mikaela Tilse placed second in the long jump, third in the triple jump and third in the 200 metres.
Amy Mills won silver in the open javelin event with a throw of 38.87 metres.
Lauren Cutler, also competing for the first time, placed fourth in the discus and shotput.
Club president Dave Macpherson won silver in the 800 metres with a time of 2.21.
