Seventeen-year-old Talia Bruce and 16-year-old Ebony Taylor, who have swum at the championships many times, were joined by 14-year-old Alexandria Field and 13-year-old Indyana Taylor.
The girls were prepared and focused.
The two youngest team members were excited to have achieved the qualifying times and to experience the opportunity to swim at the event amongst the best in the state for the first time.
Bruce competed in the women’s 15 years and over 100 metre breaststroke, 100 metre backstroke, 100 metre freestyle and open 50 metre breaststroke.
She achieved personal best times and earned herself the position of 10th in the state for the 50 metre breaststroke.
Field swam the women’s 13-14 years 50 metre backstroke, achieving a personal best time.
Ebony achieved some consistent times, competing in the women’s 15 years and over 100 metre freestyle, 100 metre breaststroke, 100 metre backstroke and the open 50 metre freestyle, 50 metre breaststroke and 50 metre backstroke.
Indyana was thrilled to knock almost a second off her personal best time in the women’s 13-14 years 50 metre backstroke.
The season will conclude for the four, contesting their swimming club championships and school representative carnivals.
This weekend, Bruce will again swim at SOPAC after qualifying for the 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke at the NSW State Open Championships.
Indyana will be swimming at SOPAC on March 8 representing the New England and North West area at the Speedo Sprint Series finals.
She will compete in the 13 years 50 metre freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, 13 years and under 200 metre freestyle relay and the 13 years and under 200 metre medley relay.
Congratulations to the girls for their brilliant effort and good luck for the upcoming meets.
