First to join our forces was Maitland in South Australia.
The town is part of the Yorke Peninsula and Mayor Ray Agnew OAM said Maitland would love to make it on to the Monopoly board.
“South Australian Maitland residents are extremely proud of their vibrant region, and would love to showcase their productive farming land renowned for its high quality barley and wheat production, wineries and stunning coastal landscape to the world,” he said.
“One of the great things about Yorke Peninsula residents such as those in Maitland is that they are always happy to lend a helping hand when asked.”
Just like our Maitland, Maitland in South Australia is within easy reach of wineries, beautiful beaches and scenic drives.
“This competition provides a fantastic opportunity to highlight the hidden gems of regional Australia that many people are yet to discover,” he said.
“We would be delighted to put Maitlands on the map, or board as the case may be.”
From last night through to March 9 people can vote for their city to be the wild card entry on the new Monopoly board game.
Maitland is vying for a spot to be one of 22 world locations on the board game titled Monopoly Here and Now.
