The two day championship carnival was held at the Wingen Recreation Grounds on Saturday and Sunday when five senior teams and two junior teams went head to head in good spirited sport.
Competitors and their horses travelled from Wee Waa, Uralla, Narrabri, Tamworth, Merriwa and Weabonga to play for the first time at Wingen.
Each year, a number of championship carnivals are held across the state and this was the first of the championships for the players to qualify to play in the Horseball World Championships in Portugal next year.
Organiser Ros Riggs said players are required to play at three of four championship carnivals throughout the year to qualify for the world team.
“Australia will be sending a male, senior mixed and junior mixed (Under 16) team,” she said.
Riggs said the players enjoyed a great weekend at Wingen with some good games and an excellent venue.
