Campdrafters travelled from across the Upper Hunter Shire and beyond to compete in the planned three day program of campdrafting.
With the rain forecast and the committee’s knowledge of the little amount of rain it would take to call the event off, they worked hard to get as much of the program through as possible.
The result was successful, but when the rain came Saturday night, the decision was made to cancel Sunday’s events, which were the maiden and open drafts.
Fortunately the encouragement, novice, ladies, juvenile, junior and junior cut-out were all run on Friday and Saturday.
This was the second year the reformed committee have run a draft after many years of the event lying dormant.
Cassilis Campdraft secretary Zoe Nairne said although the final day had to be cancelled, the committee was still pleased with an otherwise successful event.
Nairne thanked all of their valued sponsors, supporters and committee members for providing their contribution to allow the event to happen.
