The weather was perfect for running on Sunday morning with a brisk nip in the air and clearing skies just in time for the Scone Motor Inn Fun Run.

A total 105 people from youngsters through to adults laced up their joggers for the annual event, which was held at Invermein Stud in Scone.
Running through the pristine laneways of Invermein and Bhima was a perfect start to an Autumn Sunday and whether they were running to win or simply enjoying the opportunity of a fun run, all participants enjoyed themselves.
Upper Hunter Shire Council sports participation officer and event organiser Nicky Western said after nearly cancelling the run due to the threatening weather, she was so pleased they went ahead as it was another great event.
Western thanked the Scone Motor Inn for sponsoring the medallions for the run, as well as Greg White and Duncan Macintrye for allowing it to take place on their properties.
She also thanked the Scone Athletics Club for its support of the ongoing event.
The results were:
2km winners - Anekah Bettens and Will Southcombe.
5km overall winners – Female: 1st Camilla Whisham – 19.42.53, 2nd Nicky Western, 3rd Lacie Quigley.
Male: 1st Luke Quigley – 22.36.97, 2nd Trevor Kratzmann, 3rd Damien Tydd.
10km overall winners – Female: 1st Penny Dow – 50.12.59, 2nd Larissa Bourke, 3rd Camilla Rea.
Male: 1st Arnold Bartlett – 38.04.97, 2nd Mick Southcombe, 3rd Josh Moore.
The school trophy in the junior section went to Bridie, Millie and Archie Crowe from Blandford Public School who narrowly defeated Quirindi Public School junior team by eight seconds.
The senior section was won by the Quirindi Public School team of Lacie and Luke Quigley, and Lacey Newcombe.
