The Bunnan Sports Club in association with Team Penning Australia is hosting a Team Penning and Arena Sorting event on Saturday and Sunday.
The event will be held at the Bunnan Sports Ground from 7am each day.
A total of 210 entries have been taken for each day, which makes it one of the biggest events of its kind in the country.
The president of Team Penning Australia Michael Newcombe will be present throughout the weekend, as well as the winners of the Sydney Royal Easter Show team penning competition and the current Australian Arena Sorting champions who are locals – David, Von and Kelly Wicks.
Competitors will travel from as far away as Forbes, Narromine, Moonbi and Gravesend to compete in the two days of action.
Organiser David Wicks welcomed everyone to go along and have a look at the thriving sport as this is one of two major events held at Bunnan each year.
“Sunday will be a great day for spectators as arena sorting is an excellent spectacle,” Wicks said.
There will be a full canteen and bar facilities in operation, and all proceeds from the weekend will go towards improving the grounds, as well as charity.
Wicks said the group had recently donated $2000 to Variety, and they plan to donate more funds to charities in the future.
