So, who’s got the most tattoos, the quirkiest designs or the most unique pictures permanently imprinted on their body?
Scone’s Brendan King is one man who could compete for the gong of the most as he has spent more than 90 hours under the needle to get his 11 tattoos across various sections of his body.
Since getting his first tattoo 10 years ago when he was 16, Brendan has continued and now has tattoos on both legs, sleeves on both arms, a full back, chest, stomach and ribs and one on his thigh, which he said would have to be the one that hurt the most.
He also has his daughter Miley’s name imprinted and his own surname, which are both special marks he wears with pride.
From the star cross to a praying angel, tribal and characterture, Brendan has a vivid range of imagery of black and white ink covering his skin.
The first mark was made on the inside of his right arm when Brendan lived in Queensland and was on day leave from hospital following a serious bull riding accident.
Brendan said he was curious to see what it would feel like and once he started it became an addiction.
“After the first one I just wanted to keep getting them,” he said.
“It does hurt, but it’s all worth it in the end.
“I’ll definitely be getting some more on my legs and stomach, I’m just working out what designs I want,” he said.
Brendan’s desire to only be worked on by good quality professional tattoo artists has led to him spending thousands of dollars on his body art, but he believes it is worth it.
His most recent tattoos have been created by Jeremy Lewandowski, an artist based at Toronto.
Earlier this year Brendan modelled in a Tattoo Convention in Melbourne where Lewandowski tattooed his thigh for the showcase.
Brendan said apart from the names and the praying angel on his back, the others are not necessarily meaningful as he just likes the art.
“It’s funny because I do regret some of the images and if I could start over with a fresh canvas I would, but that’s life.”
