How the old people who named the mountain, The Murlow, would enjoy the new name as many were partial to a mellow red.
From my childhood days, my grandmother always called this mountain The Murlow, but it was known officially as Mt Murulla until about 1965, when its true name was restored.
I will raise a glass of merlot to this my favourite mountain, ‘the old Murlow!
