The Muswellbrook under-12s Gill team braved the damp conditions and, thanks to the Scone Bulls side, managed to complete a game. The Bulls won the toss and sent Gill in to bat.
Openers Andrew Cooper and Cooper Gageler looked solid early and got the partnership to 47 before the Bulls struck, bowling Cooper Gageler for 10.
Andrew Cooper combined with Oscar Morgan and then Angus Williams, taking the score to 80 before Andrew retired on 32 not out. At the end of 22 overs they posted a respectable 83.
Wickets then didn’t come easy early on due to tight bowling from Alex Blayden and Jimmy Kane, and the Scone openers played the conditions well. Some excellent fielding from Harry Scowen and Oscar Morgan kept the Bulls honest in the chase.
However, two late wickets to Andrew Cooper weren’t enough, and the Bulls passed the target with five overs to spare.
