TALENTED local athlete Kirsten Smith has been rewarded for a strong list of achievements by winning Scone’s Sportstar of the Year.

Smith was handed the award on Australia Day after recording sensational results in several different sports.
She was part of the under-17s NSW Cyclones side which claimed the national title, while her Australian team won the world championship.
Smith was named the best player of the final following that triumph.
The teenager was also a member of the state champion Hunter Combined High Schools (CHS) girls cricket side, and gained selection in the NSW CHS Firsts.
To round out her cricket achievements, she is playing first grade for Northern Districts Cricket Club in Sydney.
An action-packed 2015 also saw her represent her school at zone and regional levels in both athletics and swimming.
She was awarded the school’s 16 years girls age champion for swimming.
This year's award follows up last year’s recognition as Scone’s Young Citizen of the Year.
