However, the weather man got it right and the rodeo went ahead over the weekend.
It was a huge success, with a record number in attendance of around 1600 adults and children.
With the rainfall on Friday, the rodeo start time was held back an hour to give the ground a chance to dry out.
The order of events had a slight change, with the Novice Barrel Race moving back in the program.
This year a new event took place with a mule ride which was enjoyed by all who attended.
There were two performances on Saturday; one started at 11am and the other at 6pm.
The main performance started with the grand entry, then the tiny tots barrel race, followed by the Pee Wee Poddy ride.
The final event of the evening was the second round of the Open Bull Ride with the Rodeo coming to a very successful close at around 10.30pm.
The Junior Jackpot Rodeo was held on Sunday with all winners of the events being presented with buckles.
Spectator numbers were up on last year.
Competitors entered in Barrel Races, Bull Rides, Saddle Bronc, Bareback, Steer Rides, Rope and Tie, Breakaway Roping and, for the younger competitors, there was the local Pee Wee Poddy Ride and Tiny Tots Barrel Ride which are very popular.
All events are sponsored by local individuals and businesses, and the committee would like to thank these people for their generosity.
