About 150 players are set to take the field on Saturday in the entry level (5-7 age group), 8-9 years, 10-11 group, and 12-16s starting from 9am.
The club had a busy preseason with a ‘Come Try Day’ held earlier this month and a steady influx of registrations.
Committee member Lesley Hayward said it was a positive period for the Mustangs.
“The ‘Come Try Day’ was very well represented, it was a a really great promotion,” she said.
“We’ve also had some parents take advantage of [Upper Hunter Shire] Council’s subsidy program as well.
“The committee is excited with the consistent numbers from last year and new fresh players that have also joined the club.”
Under Council’s Sport 4 U initiative, applicants had to be aged between five to 15-years-old, the family must have a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card, and reside within the Upper Hunter Shire.
The club also has two travelling representative teams, the under 13s and 15s.
Both teams played at home last weekend, with the 13s suffering a defeat to Rutherford and the 15s going down 2-1 to Kurri Kurri.
This Saturday will see the 13s face Wallsend away while the 15s take on Westlakes at Fishburn Field.
Meanwhile, the club will be hosting a social Friday night futsal competition, beginning May 6 at the Scone Basketball Stadium.
The 14-round tournament will involve 28-minute games and a maximum of 10 teams.
There must be two females on the court at all times, and it is suitable for ages 12 and over.
