I’m sure they’d have a tale or two to tell, especially those within the Segenhoe Inn at Aberdeen.
The historic building, which was established in 1837, opened its doors to the public on Sunday – and hundreds of locals and visitors alike took advantage of the hospitality.
People wandered through the beautiful gardens and were treated to a tour of the premises, courtesy of owner Richard Pryor.
“We’ve had a great response to the Open Day,” he said.
“I think I’ve taken anywhere up to 20 tours today.
“Each one has been packed.
“It’s important for local people to know that they’re still welcome to use this facility.
“We’re happy to help the community any way we can.
“For example, we asked for a gold coin entry today – and this money will be donated to the Aberdeen Men’s Shed to get power connected to their shed.”
With vocalist Cassidy-Rae entertaining the guests, market stalls, a barbecue, as well as other mouth-watering food and coffee from Chocolattea Cafe, added to the atmosphere.
