And, while the Academy Award winner did not appear in person, his action alter-ego Jason Bourne provided the entertainment for the residents who ventured to Muswellbrook Cinema.
“It’s the first time we’ve hosted a movie night,” Rotary Club of Scone president Ben Butters said.
“So, we were thrilled to have about 50 people in attendance.
“Everyone’s looking forward to seeing the latest instalment in the Bourne series.
“All the proceeds will go towards purchasing a ShelterBox.”
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief agency that seeks to provide shelter, warmth and dignity to families who have lost their homes, either by natural or man-made catastrophes.
“Since 2001, ShelterBox has assisted people in more than 90 countries, following 200 disasters,” Mr Butters said.
“At the heart of every ShelterBox is a custom-designed disaster relief tent.
“Other equipment includes thermal blankets, insulated ground mats, water purification and carriers, a stove, a kitchen set with cooking and eating utensils, tool kit, solar lights and children’s activity pack.
“Box contents can also be tailored to suit conditions and climate.”
Mr Butters said planning for the club’s next fundraiser had already begun.
“We’re holding our annual trivia night at the Scone Bowling Club on Friday, September 16, at 7pm,” he told The Advocate.
“Come along and join in.
“Or, make up a team for a fun night.
“The cost is $10 per person.”
