Members of the Scone and District Cancer Support Group set up stalls inside the Coles building and in front of the Reject Shop on Friday.
Volunteers were selling all fresh cut flowers and merchandise, including pens, pins, bears, mini footballs, and more from 8am to 4pm.
They also walked the streets of Scone, visiting as many business houses as possible to raise funds.
Scone and District Cancer Support Group member Cath Coady said it was a terrific contribution from the local community.
“Overall our little community raised a little over $8000, which included $1087 raised at Scone Primary School on Tuesday,” she said.
“This is a little over last year and we all very happy with the result.
“The generosity of our town never ceases to amaze me.
“There is a lot of work that goes into Daffodil Day and the result makes it truly worthwhile.
“I’d like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time on the day for this wonderful cause including Scone Primary School for its fantastic support, Transcare, who allow us to use their boardroom for the day, Tilse Building/ Tilse Apple Shed, who give us the space to store the daffodils once they arrive until Friday, and Coles supermarket for the table space for our stall.”
All funds raised on Daffodil Day go directly to the Cancer Council to assist with research into a cure for cancer.
