With her focus firmly on completing the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and working as an AUSTSWIM instructor, the Scone Swimming Club member’s preparations began quite late in the season.
Despite this, Ebony still managed to put in a strong performance during the recently-held NSW State Age Championships at Sydney’s Olympic Park.
She clocked a time of 28.89 in the 17/18 years 50 metre freestyle, which was marginally slower than her personal best of 28.35.
The former Scone High School student reached the championships again this year by obtaining qualifying times at carnivals in the New England and North West area and further afield.
She is now looking forward to training hard and swimming state events that she has qualified for in the next couple of months.
Ebony is also hoping to build on these events at approaching qualifying carnivals.
She will swim eight events at the NSW Country Championships, which begins on February 24, and two at the NSW State Open Championships.
