It proved to be a particularly successful carnival for the Aaron Watts-coached under-10 boys team, which won its age group.
Talented local youngster Toby Brown was named player of the grand final.
The under-10 girls also had a lot of fun and scored a number of tries.
Scone’s under-12 boys impressed, ending up in third place, while the under-14 boys got off to a strong start with a win over Muswellbrook. The under-14 girls finished sixth out of 16 teams.
- The championships is the largest regional junior touch football tournament in the state. It is a lead up to the NSW Junior State Cup, which will be held in Port Macquarie from February 17-19.
