In 2017 and 2018, the NSW State Eventing Championships will be conducted at the March event, which is taking place next weekend.
With a strong group of sponsors, a stunning and challenging cross country course and recent innovations such as the spectator-friendly twilight showjumping, the Scone Horse Trials have gone from strength to strength.
Over 400 local, NSW and interstate competitors will attend.
There will be seven different grades, from 60cm to three-star, which is the highest level of eventing in Australia.
President Blair Richardson said the ongoing success of the horse trials was down to generous sponsors and a small but hard-working committee.
"The volunteers, in particular, give up their time and put in a lot of effort to help prepare it," he said.
"We also want to thank the landowners for allowing us to use their property and all the local sponsors."
Mr Richardson added preparations were going well with a little over a week to go before the trials.
"Course designer John Nicholson is flying over from New Zealand on Friday to start preparations and we'll also have a dressage judge from New Zealand, Bill Phiskie, coming here.
"The Twilight Showjumping is always popular; it'll go from 5-7pm, and admission is free. We've also got a couple of Rio Olympians competing, including Shane Rose."
The Scone Horse Trials will go from March 4-5.
