Randle won the Australian High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA) champion saddle bronc rider at Charters Towers, Queensland, earlier this month.
That victory saw him became a member of the national side, which will travel to Wyoming, USA, in July to compete in the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) finals against Canada and America.
The rodeo attracts more than 1500 competitors.
Randle, an 18-year-old from ‘Pine Lodge’ in the Upper Hunter, attended Scone Grammar School up until Year 9 before finishing his schooling at Farrer Agricultural High School in Tamworth.
He has ridden horses all his life, from pony club through to eventing, showjumping, and stockman’s challenges, including King of the Ranges, and has broken in all the young stock for the family business.
Apart from his success this year, Randle also won the East Coast junior saddle bronc champion in 2016.
He is currently working as a stationhand at “Brunchilly”, a Sidney Kidman property in the Northern Territory.
