Mac Dawson, who has recently been listed as the town's most recommended on Australia's number one review website RateMyAgent, believes the downturn over the past few years has “probably gone” now.
“I think it'll be another six months before prices start to lift, but there's been a lot more enquiries since around Christmas time,” he says.
“It's good to see the market back to where it is at the moment.
“Scone is starting to get more positive, so hopefully people can get behind the bypass and help return the town to what it was 15 years ago.
“A bit of a rise in employment has been promising, and it's in more than just one industry.”
After opening Dawson and Dawson Realty three years ago, Mr Dawson is thrilled with how the business has evolved.
And, he quickly pointed out the importance of teamwork in its ongoing success.
“I'd like to thank two of my mentors in the office, Garry Gilkeson and Jeny Dawson, for putting up with me and of course to all of our clients,” he says.
“Getting that positive feedback [on the ratings website] is a good way to keep in touch with how you're performing.
“But any criticism that comes is also a good way to learn and improve for the next sale.
“You really don't need to sell property like Sydney to still get good prices.”
Apart from Mr Dawson, fellow Scone agents Meredith Munro and Sarah Lorden, of John Flood Estate Agents, have also been highly rated on the review site.
It takes into account a number of factors including sales, marketing, credibility, negotiation skills, and overall satisfaction.
