Pupils Brianna Denley and Tomara Gallegos cut off their ponytails to donate for wig making, while Elle Potter and Ben Cropper shaved their heads for the worthy cause.

Tegan Tickner, of Locks Hair Salon, volunteered her time and skills to be the hairdresser on the day. 

Five students also took home prizes for winning the Craziest Hair competition.

The Scone High School team has so far raised more than $1900, and donations are still being accepted.

Funds will help give families who are facing blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need.

Donors also help fund vital research so more people survive blood cancers like lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma.

Blood cancer is the third most common cause of cancer death in Australia, claiming more lives than breast cancer or melanoma.

And, another 35 people will be diagnosed every day.

Providing the school with a donation will go towards ensuring someone being treated in hospital gets a personal visit from a highly-trained health professional so they get the extra support they need.
